If you want to select records before uploading the files then below are the steps to achieve the same:

  • To select the records, you first need to select the object from the "Select Object" drop-down list. 
  • After that, we have 3 "Search Modes" - List View, Search, Advanced Search (SOQL)
  • List View - All the List Views for the selected object will be available here. Once you select any list view, all the records in that List View will be selected.


  • Search - You can enter the record name or keyword present in your record name, to get the list of records associated with/containing that keyword. You can now select your required record from the displayed list of records. 


  • Advanced Search (SOQL) - Query the records from the selected object, by entering the required SOQL query and clicking the "Run query" button will display the number of records associated with that query. All the records that are fetched from your query will be selected.  

If you want to select records after they have been uploaded so that you can configure which file gets attached to which set of records then below are the steps:

    1. Yes, the user can upload files first and then select records using the Mass File Upload app. Follow the steps below to             accomplish this:

  • Go to the Mass File Upload app
  • Navigate to the "Records" tab within the Mass File Upload app.
  • In the "Records Selection Mode," turn OFF the toggle
  • This allows you to upload files without selecting specific records initially.

    2. Upload your files: After turning the toggle off, you will have the option to upload your desired files. This can be done by             dragging and dropping the files or using the upload button on the page.

  • Choose the object: Select the relevant object to which the files should be linked.
  • Set search mode: Depending on your requirements, choose the appropriate search mode to locate the desired records.
  • Select records: Use the available options to select the records you wish to associate with the uploaded files.
  • Save your selections: After selecting the records, click on the "Save" button to finalize the associations.
  • Check the status: Upon successful file upload and record selection, you will receive a success message in the "Status" column, confirming that the process was completed.
