Purpose

To download files to location machine

To migrate files from source to destination Salesforce org. (Assuming that the parent records are already migrated and source legacy Ids are store in destination org.)

Supported File Types

Files, Attachments, Documents, Library Files, Static Resources, Event Logs, Classic Notes, Lightning Notes

Limit Per Operation

Up to 2,000 per page (MFD tab) and 5,000 per page (Lightning tab / Record Detail Component)

Migrate up to 50,000 files per operation

Pagination / Volume Handling

No file count limit; use pagination to move between pages

No limit; can migrate 50K files in each operation

File Size Limit

No file size limit for download

No size limit on UI migration; File size limit on migration via batch is 8.5 MB.

File Name Customization

Yes, File Name and Folder Name can be customized

Installation Requirement

Install in the source org to download files

Install in the source org to migrate files to the destination org

Component Availability

Object-level Lightning Components are available
