The “Migrate Now” feature supports the migration of existing Salesforce Files or Attachments to Azure using a credit-based system that allows you to manage and track data usage effectively. This credit system is designed to ensure fair and scalable usage based on your file migration volume.

When you purchase or activate the Migrate Now feature, your organization is granted 100 GB of migration credits by default. These credits are consumed only when files are successfully migrated to Azure via the Migrate Now interface.

This system only applies to the "Migrate Now" feature, used for manually searching and migrating files in bulk or selectively. It does not apply to the "Migrate Real-Time" feature, which automatically migrates new file uploads and does not consume any credits.

You can monitor your usage through the Credit Summary section available on the About Azure Integration Tab. This summary includes:

  • Attempted File Migrations – total number of files selected for migration (successful, failed, or cancelled).
  • Successful File Migrations – number and total size of files successfully moved to Azure.
  • Cancelled/Error File Migrations – count of files that failed or were skipped.
  • Credits Assigned – total migration capacity allotted (default: 100 GB).
  • Credits Consumed – total data migrated so far.
  • Credits Left – remaining balance available for future migrations.

For example, if you've consumed only 1.32 MB, the remaining credits will still show as 100.00 GB, since only a tiny fraction has been used.

If your migration needs exceed the default 100 GB, you can purchase additional credits to expand your capacity as needed. This makes the system flexible for both small migrations and large-scale data transfers.

In short, the credit system provides an efficient way to manage usage, track migration activity, and control cost, only for Migrate Now, not for real-time file uploads.
