You don’t need to transfer the Mass File Migrate App license in most cases. The migration process depends on whether your user has the “View All Files” permission in the source org:

  • If you have “View All Files” permission:
    1. Use the Mass File Migrate app to connect as the destination user.
    2. Filter the files owned by that user and migrate them.
    3. Repeat the process for each additional owner.
  • If you don’t have “View All Files” permission:
    You have two options:
    1. Request the “View All Files” permission for your user so you can complete all migrations.
    2. Assign the Mass File Migrate license to the other user(s) so they can log in, filter by their own ownership, and migrate their files.

This approach ensures that file ownership is preserved during migration.
