To rename file names based on a specific field's value as a suffix, follow these steps:
- Access the Mass File Download App: Open the Mass File Download app and navigate to the "Excluded Objects" tab.
- Select the Desired Object: Choose the record representing the object for which you want to add a suffix to the downloaded files. In this example, select "Account."
- Configure the Suffix Field: Click on the excluded object record and go to the "Details" section. In the "File Name Suffix" field, add the API name of the field whose value you want to use as a suffix.
- Configure Download Settings: Now, head over to the "About Mass Download File" tab. In the "File Download Configuration" section, turn ON the "Rename Downloaded Files with File Name Suffix" setting. Ensure that the "Rename Downloaded File for Deduplication" setting is OFF.
- Save Your Settings: Click on the "Save" button to save your configuration.
- With these settings in place, the downloaded file will be renamed with the value found in the specified field (in this case, the SIC field) on the corresponding record.
- Now, when you download a file, you will see that the file name has been updated to include the value from the SIC field, providing a more customised and informative file name
